Reality or Fiction:Client and Objective London Quest were contacted by luxury interior design company FourIV to organise their Christmas party 08. As their company is full of diverse and creative employees they asked for the Quest to have an element in which they could display their own creative prowess. London Quest obliged. The Quest To set the scene and start the adventure with a bang, one of our actress’ was sent into the firm under the guise of a temp, her cover, to man the phones when everyone was out of the office. After stuffing envelops for the morning and being taught the ropes by Henrietta, our insider, she congregated with the rest of the FourIV employees. The group were split up into 4 teams, but as these were read out their motivation and direction for the day swiftly changed. Two masked Droogs barged through the main entrance, leaped over the main reception desk and menacingly established who was who in the group. Suddenly they snatched the ‘temp’ and left. After solving a selection of clues the group travelled to the Museum of London, and avoiding the Droog at the entrance they found the captive in tears. In her state of shock she could explain little that the teams could comprehend. The only instruction they could glean from her where directions to Postman’s Park. The teams arrived in the quaint gardens and found themselves watching a presenter and cameraman. They were filming a documentary about reality and fiction, commenting on the film Closer and Natalie Portman’s fictional character inspired by the park. The teams, eager for more information, accepted a flyer from the presenter. The flyer was promoting a competition about the definition between reality and fiction. The flyer led them to a director who had entered the competition, but was currently suffering from a small case of writers block. The director was a familiar face; he sat them down and began to explain all. Because he was short on time to create a piece for the competition and he feared that his troupe of actors was not up to the job, he asked the teams for their help. In a change of tact he sent the teams to the British Museum to research an exhibition, ‘Babylon, Myth and Reality’. The teams had to decide what was legend and what was reality and then tell this tale in six photographs using models at a photographic studio in Covent Garden. After completing storyboards, directing the models and the photographer, their stories where complete. They travelled back to the director to present their narrative and their once in a lifetime opportunity to represent him in the competition. They presented their stories, their pictures and waited nervously for the director’s decision. The director and his players discussed the presentations and awarded the bottle of bubbles to the winners. Feedback - Henrietta Dauncey – FourIV Just wanted to say another big thank you for the Quest on Thursday. Everyone had a great time; they couldn’t stop talking about it. The day couldn’t have gone better :) |
